Designing a composable-commerce proof of concept
Led the design and implementation of an internal proof of concept that joined a modern storefront, composable services and automated environment provisioning.
THE SITUATION
The purpose was to test a composable-commerce approach by building it, not to present another architecture slide. The proof of concept needed clear boundaries between capabilities and a repeatable environment so the technical method could be examined in practice. It was internal validation work, not a claim of production readiness.
WHAT I DID
- Led the overall design and implementation of the proof of concept.
- Connected Contentful, commercetools, Auth0 and Algolia through a GraphQL-based storefront architecture.
- Used Terraform and the agreed cloud platform to make environment setup repeatable.
- Kept the capabilities separated so the team could inspect the responsibilities and integration seams.
- Documented the system as a technical proof rather than presenting it as a finished production platform.
WHAT CHANGED
A fresh environment could be provisioned in approximately 15–20 minutes. That is supporting engineering evidence: it demonstrates repeatability in the proof of concept, not production readiness, adoption, savings or low ongoing maintenance.
